There are a total of three contactors used in this system. These are the (1) single-pole normally open contactors for bypass, field weakening, pump, or power steel functions; (2) double-pole normally open contactors for direction function on split field motors; and (3) double-pole changeover pair contactors as reversing pairs or for direction functions.
