It is recommended that the exterior of the controller be cleaned periodically. Follow the cleaning procedure provided for routine maintenance, which includes disconnecting the battery, discharging the capacitors, and wiping the controller down with a moist rag before reconnecting the battery. Make sure to dry the controller and check that all connections are tight.
